Bridal Accessories that will Compliment that Perfect Dress

October 25th, 2011 by admin

The search for your dream wedding dress can be almost as exciting a journey as searching for the love of your life. Emphasis on "almost". But as important as your wedding dress may be, there are many other details that come together to make you look your best on your big day.

Even the most gorgeous dress in the world can often benefit from a few stylish accessories. Headpieces, veils, handbags, jewelry and shoes blend to create more than just the perfect dress, but the ensemble of your dreams.

When planning your wedding, it is easy to see that all the details add up to more than the sum of their parts. An otherwise ordinary venue can transform into a virtual paradise with the right decorations. The same theory applies to your your bridal accessories. These items will be sure to inspire smiles and cheers from your attendants and guests.

Veils

Bridal veils come in many different shapes, sizes and lengths. When planning out the right veil for your wedding day, it is important to consider the season, wedding theme and style of your dress. Summer weddings might call for a shorter veil, while winter ceremonies may require something a little longer.

Blusher Veils: Blusher veils consist of a single, see-through layer of tulle or netting. They come in two distinct styles.

Traditional blusher veils are worn over the face during your walk down the aisle, and then either the father of the bride or the groom lifts it up during the ceremony. Modern veils are great for creating a "retro" or vintage feel. You can wear these veils all throughout the day.

Short Veils: Short veils just sweep across the bride's shoulders. They can be composed of one single, lightweight layer or multiple layers of fabric. Short veils are ideal for daytime weddings or casual affairs. Some brides even choose to switch from a long veil during the ceremony to a shorter one during the reception.

]]>

Mid-length Veils: These versatile veils often come with multiple layers and extend down to somewhere between the elbows and fingertips. If you don't want to go all-out with an extra long veil, a mid-length style is a perfect compromise. They look great for photographs taken with your veil blowing gently in the wind!

Cathedral and Chapel Veils: These long, flowing veils extend several feet behind your wedding dress. They look breathtaking and glamorous while you walk confidently to meet your husband-to-be. Chapel and cathedral veils help to elongate the silhouette and look incredible in portraits.

Headpieces

Of course, veils aren't the only way to spruce up a wedding outfit. Oftentimes brides combine them with stylish headpieces.

Combs: Picking out the right hairstyle for your wedding day can be nearly as stressful as finding the right dress. Combs help to add sparkling accents to updos and other hairstyles. They come in different varieties and often feature dazzling crystals, rhinestones and pearls.

Headbands: Looking for a way to separate distinct parts of your hairstyle? Stunning headbands are available for brides, dynamically designed and perfect for bringing an outfit together. You can find them with crystal embellishments, floral rhinestone motifs, and even colorful three-dimensional ruffles.

Tiaras: Always dreamed of feeling like a princess on your wedding day? Then brightening up your look with a tiara might be the right choice for you. These look great with updos or flowing hairstyles. Many can even be paired with a variety of different veils. Tiaras often come highlighted with pearls, rhinestones, crystals and more.

Shoes

Deciding on the right pair of shoes for your wedding day is a tricky proposition. As much as you want to go for the best style, you also have to consider that you will be walking around in them all day long.

High Heels: Of course, high heels do a fabulous job of elongating your figure and making you look your best. But the long day ahead of a bride can make them a little bit intimidating. Many brides get around this by only wearing their heels during the ceremony and photographs. Afterward, they discreetly change into a pair of flats or even sandals for the reception.

Dyeable: Dyeable shoes are great for creating a cohesive look between the bride and her bridesmaids. The bride can simply wear a white or ivory version of the shoes, while the bridesmaids can have the same style dyed to match the color of their dresses.

These are just a few of the many accessory options available for brides on their wedding days. And you shouldn't stop there! Remember there is a whole wide variety of jewelry, handbags, garters, sashes and much, much more that can help to make you look incredible on one of the biggest days of your life.

The Secrets to Choosing the Perfect Bridal Headpiece

October 21st, 2011 by admin

A headpiece is like the pretty bow on top of the beautifully wrapped present. Selecting the right headpiece to complement your wedding dress is a matter of personal taste and the image you want to portray, so let your personality shine. Headpieces are available in a dazzling array of options such as Tiaras, headbands, flower clips, pins, combs and veils. Allow a headpiece to highlight your hairstyle and face while unifying your wedding attire.

Headpiece versus Hairstyle

Brides are often confused about which to choose first -- the headpiece or the hairstyle. The answer: you need to listen to your instinct. Let your hairstyle inspire your choice of headpiece or let your headpiece influence a hairstyle.

The Princess Bride

Feel like a princess with a tiara. Tiaras are semicircle headpieces decorated with jewels and beads. They lend romance to long loose hair, an "up-do," partial "up-do" and short hair. Shimmer in a silver Tiara Crystal Open Back that holds a mix of pearls, crystals and rhinestones. Wear a delicate tiara in silver and inlaid with a light blend of pearls and crystals. Turn up the sparkle with the fairytale floral motif tiara set with crystals and rum/ivory pearls.

Headbands

Show your radiant face with the help of a bridal worthy headband. A wedding headband is more than your everyday fastener. You can find headbands in a variety of widths with pearls, crystals and beads. Use a headband to hold long, short, curly or straight hair.

The barely there Bridal Silver Crystal Geometrical Headband will go with any style of dress. The subtle charm of this headband sparkles with clear Swarovski crystals. Adorn your head in the 1 inch wide Headband with Chunky Crystals and Pearls. The large crystals and pearl clusters have a contemporary appearance. Wearing a braided bead motif headband bedecked with rhinestones and pearls provides you with stunning functionality.

]]>

Pins, Combs and Flower Clips

Glamour and sparkle abound with bejeweled pins and decorative combs. Pins and combs add sophistication to all kinds of hairstyles. Flower clips dress up your hair in natural beauty or flirty fun.

Do you dare add some flare to your wedding ensemble? You can garnish your hair with the Pinwheel Feather Flower Clip. A rhinestone punctuates the center of the feathery flower. Affix the organza Flower Hair Comb with the faux pearl spray in your hair. Secure your hair by placing the Rhodium Floral Comb in it. The comb incorporates Pave set rhinestones in a flower and leaf design for a charming vintage style. Scatter a set of six Pearl and Crystal Cluster Hair Jewelry pins, or single crystal or rhinestone pins throughout your hair to create an enchanting effect.

Hail the Veil

Traditionally, wedding veils created mystique as the bride floated down the aisle. The bride didn't reveal her face until her father presented her to the groom. As a modern bride, you have many choices of veils and it's acceptable to keep your face uncovered. Veils come in short, fingertip, elbow and long lengths.

Short veils are light and airy offering an unobstructed view of the back of your dress. Cap your head with the two-tiered fashionable Bridal Short Veil without gathers. Scattered rhinestones on the veil resemble fallen stardust.  The Bridal Russian Net Facial Blusher is a chin length veil that transparently covers your face while giving you a chic retro look.

Fingertip veils splendidly billow around your shoulders. Make a statement by donning the one tier Mantilla Veil in white, ivory, or light ivory. The veil is embellished with a lace appliqué edge and pearls. The 30-inch long Bridal Elbow One-Tier Veil is made of tulle in a U shape. The veil is finished with a pencil edge and a wire comb keeps it in place.

The timeless quality of a long veil is perfect for formal weddings. A long veil dramatically cascades from your head to the floor. The voluminous material gracefully moves with you. Strike a memorable pose in the one tier 120 inches long Cathedral Veil. The length of the veil allows for lovely pooling at your feet.

Do You Want to Know The Secret?

The secret to choosing the right hair accessory is to match the details of your wedding dress to your headpiece giving you a polished presence. Correspond a decorated pearl headband to your pearl studded wedding dress. A Swarovski crystal tiara fits with your crystal-laden gown.

Coordinate a lace trimmed wedding dress and a lace veil. The journey leading to your wedding is filled with many decisions. Ease your burden by remembering that a perfect headpiece is one that makes you happy, brings your outfit together and results in sensationally, accessorized hair.

Weddings are the result of several months of careful research and planning. Nothing less is expected as it is one of the most important events in a couple's life, one that normally happens only once during a person's lifetime. There are numerous things to consider, details to think about. Some couples who do not have the time to attend to all of the details involved with planning a wedding usually hire a wedding planner, events coordinator or designer. In exchange for the immense convenience provided with hiring professionals, a significant charge is added to the total cost of the wedding expenses. For more budget savvy couples, they can do without hiring wedding professionals but they need to be more involved with the entire process until after the ceremony is over. With such a major event, it is better to gain the help of friends and relatives with some aspects of the wedding plans.

There are numerous aspects to consider with regard to the wedding. Brides are oftentimes more involved with planning the details. It is one of the few times where they are allowed to live out their dreams of a fairy tale setting. What the bride will be wearing during that special day is of utmost importance. She is much like the centerpiece of the event, with all eyes on her. Some of the things a bride needs to thing about include the wedding dress, bridal accessories as well as her hair and makeup.

Bridal accessories are an essential part of the ensemble but are sometimes overlooked. Oftentimes, bridal accessories tend to be small in size but not in terms of importance. These trinkets are essential in pulling the whole ensemble together. A few examples of bridal accessories include jewelry, gloves, garters, handkerchiefs and hair accessories such as tiaras and veils. Each of these accessories can be distinct pieces but need to be consistent with the bride's look and overall theme of the wedding.

With choosing any bridal accessory for the wedding, it is important to consider the gown and the colors for the wedding. The gown is seen as the main attraction on the bride with the accessories complementing it. Think about the material of the gown and its design. If it is a satin white gown then select accessories that are either made from satin or would go well with the material.

In picking shoes, it is vital to choose one that will provide comfort. As the bride will be standing and walking around for a considerable amount of time, it is worth taking note if the bride is comfortable using the shoes. Style is also important of lesser importance, as long it fits the overall theme it is suitable.

When it comes to hair accessories, it is also important to consider the hair style as well as the other accessories that would be worn along with it. This includes items such as earrings and necklaces. In comparison to other accessories, there are more factors involved with those placed on the hair such as tiaras and veils. In addition to the style and material, the hair style must also be in line with accessory. There are certain hairstyles which only go with specific types of tiaras and veils. The same goes with picking hair pins, combs and the like.

Check several magazines, Internet websites and stores for ideas and available items before purchasing a particular bridal accessory. Brides should think first if the accessory will fit the theme rather than picking it because it looks good or because of its price. There is an abundance of bridal accessories available with the right design and for the right price.

Tips for Finding Picture Perfect Wedding Accessories

July 10th, 2011 by admin

Strut your stuff as you walk down the aisle decked out with fabulous accessories that complete your wedding ensemble. With veils, earrings, shoes, headbands, wraps, tiaras and more, brides have more choices now than ever before when it comes to accessorizing their wedding gowns.

Taking a few moments to get your bearings and learn how different pieces will complement your gown is the first step to achieving the perfect look. Go ahead and read through these quick tips that will help get you started down the path to finishing your bridal outfit.

Start with a Good Foundation

Whether you are looking to create a full skirt for a dramatic silhouette or give your body the support it needs, choosing the right slip or underwear for your wedding day is crucial. If your gown is form-fitting and you are worried about those problem areas that every woman has, consider purchasing shape wear to help smooth them out.

Be prepared for the night ahead with lingerie solutions including: flash tape to secure your bust, a magic clip to hide your bra straps out of sight, clothing adhesives, silicone cups and more. Make your perfect dress fit like a glove with the right undergarments.

Seek to Enhance the Style of Your Gown

Make your show-stopping entrance with glamorous accessories that not only coordinate with the style of your gown, but actually enhance it. If your dress features beaded detailing, then find beaded earrings or a necklace to complete your look.

With a colorful beach dress, browse purses in a myriad of bright colors and prints to attain tropical style. Traditional or princess gowns look stunning when paired with elbow-length gloves, while embellished wraps also work with more modern bridal styles. Whatever your personal style is, be sure that your accessories reflect it and your dress.

Work with Your Hairstyle

From elaborate up-do's to long and flowing tresses, you can find headpieces and veils that accommodate any hairstyle. One popular look is to insert a crystal-encrusted comb attached to a veil underneath an elegantly twisted bun. Another choice is to affix a silk flower to your hair, complemented by a two-tier shoulder-length veil.

With diverse styles of sparkly tiaras, elaborate headbands and pearl clips at your fingertips, selecting the right headpiece for your wedding ensemble should improve upon your already fantastic hairstyle. Wow the crowd with a beautiful hairdo adorned by heirloom-quality bridal accessories.

Do Not Overdo It

Attempt to create a balanced appearance from head to toe when trying on wedding accessories. Too many accessories can distract the audience and detract from your glamorous wedding outfit. On the other hand, you do not want to under-accessorize and end up with a plainer style than you anticipated.

Strike for a happy medium; choose a pearl-studded tiara to go with your pearl-string necklace, or crystal earrings to match your crystal-covered comb. Pick one accessory to be your eye-grabbing piece, like an antique-inspired floral pin, and find subtler options for the rest of your accessories so that they aren't competing for attention. Reaching the ideal balance of bridal accents will help take your wedding garb to the next level.

Treat Your Feet to Fabulous and Comfortable Shoes

Go beyond looks when selecting your pair of bridal shoes. How far are you able to walk before stopping to adjust? Do they rub your feet anywhere? How does it feel to stand in them for ten minutes? These are important tests to conduct before purchasing the pair you will wear to say, "I do."
One option is to buy two pairs: high heels for the ceremony and more comfortable sandals for the reception. With so many designs to browse through, from open-toe and high heel to ankle straps and dyeable options, every bride is bound to come across a spectacular pair that she is comfortable in.

Do Not Panic — Ask for Help

Are you unsure of which veil to use? Can't find the right jewelry? Sometimes brides are too close to the situation and need an outsider's perspective. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, take a step back and ask for second opinions. Your bridal consultant is full of helpful tips that will make the decision-making process a little easier. See what your bridesmaids think, or different members of your family. Listening to their advice will enable you to narrow down your decision, but stay true to your instinct as well. It's your wedding, after all.

By choosing exquisite wedding accessories for your big day, you will acquire timeless treasures that perhaps you will be able to pass down to your own children one day. When you look and feel amazing, it will show through your confidence and attitude so that you will be positively glowing as you walk down that aisle.

The Perfect Wedding Dress for the Do It Yourself Wedding

June 19th, 2011 by admin

You are having a do it yourself wedding, want a wedding gown and you are on a budget.  So what do you do? If you love to sew, or are hard to fit, making your own would be the answer.  This way you get exactly what you want, and the fit is perfect. Here are some suggestions on how to start:

• If you are new at sewing, buy a pattern.  Fabric shops will help talk you through the purchase of materials, and assist when you get stuck.

• Check your closet for a top that would make a good bodice for your dress.  It can be a sleeveless tank, a perfectly fitting blouse, a halter top or even a longer tube top. Now you have the pattern for the top of your gown.  All you have to do is add whatever length and style skirt you want.

• A favorite, well-fitting dress can be used as your pattern.

• A nightgown can be used as a pattern, but add a wide sash or belt to make it more fitted.

• When the dress is fitting perfectly, you then add your beads, appliqués, sequins, satin buttons, etc.

• A veil can be as simple as a square of netting placed over the head and held in place with a decorative comb, flowers, or tiara.

• Flowers can be handled very simply by tying several long stemmed roses together with a ribbon in the wedding colors and draping it over your arm.  Use the same thing for any maid of honor, using fewer flowers.

If this seems overpowering to you or you simply don’t have the sewing skills, time, or desire to make your own gown there are many other options for you to choose from. The following are but a few of the places you can go to for help:

• The internet has hundreds of places where you can buy wholesale, outlet store gowns, last minute sales on discontinued styles, and pre-worn gowns.  Visit Outlet Bound at www.outletbound.com  to find the places in your area that you might shop.

• Have you considered renting your gown?  Rarely does a wedding dress get a second wearing unless you sell or give it to someone else.  Check online or in the yellow pages for a rental gown.

• A consignment shop is a good place to go for higher end and even designer dresses at a very much marked down price.  They usually are not many seasons old, either.

• Thrift shops often have much older gowns, which are enjoying new popularity again after so many years.  Trim is easily removed and even replaced with minimal effort and little cost.

• The want ads are also a good source.  Many women run ads to sell their gowns without paying a middleman. Often you get the whole outfit this way, including undergarments and the veil.

• Online again to Craig’s list where you can either check the existing ads in your area, or run your own ad asking for the specific style and size wedding gown you’d like.

• Go to eBay and bid on a dress at their auctions.

As you can see, there are many different ways to get a wedding dress for your do it yourself wedding.  By the way, if you have a similarly sized friend or family member who has a wedding dress in her closet, there is nothing wrong with borrowing!

To your beautiful wedding!

A Traditional Japanese Wedding Dress would be Perfect for a Cosplay Wedding

June 13th, 2011 by admin

There tend to be more and more people getting focused on traditional and popular Japanese culture, with a product being that more brides are opting to wear a traditional Japanese wedding dress. It's a wedding theme that would be a lttle bit around the unusual side but the wedding dress definitely isn't . You won't find any similarities between the Japanese and Western dresses, though, apart from the fact that they're both white . And if the bride desires to stick with tradition, she'll want to have at least two dresses for the wedding and also the reception.

The first wedding dress will be for the ceremony only and is called a shiro-maku. Since the name literally means white and pure, or shiro and maku respectively, the dress would be all white with no decorations at all . One unusual thing about this kimono would be that the dress itself is extremely long that attendants should help the bride hold it up. The bride will be all in white, including her wooden clogs, socks as well as her face, so as to advertise her maiden's status to the gods. Another type of kimono will be used during the wedding reception. This kimono is called the uchikake and is an elaborately decorated, brightly colored silk kimono. This would be a quick change since it just goes covers the shiro-maku before the reception starts. There are many happy colors to choose from although most brides pick red as it symbolizes happiness and good luck.

The bride's hair is arranged in an elaborate hairstyle called the bunkin-takashimada which will be, more often than not, a wig. It's decorated with gold combs and hair accessories to bring good luck to the couple. During the ceremony, a white hood called the tsuno kakushi covers the bride's hair. Actually, the name means "hide the horns of jealousy" and signifies the bride would be being married willingly and vows to be a pleasing and serene wife, despite her mother-in-law! At the reception, the hood will be removed to showcase her hairstyle and pretty dress. In many cases, the bride changes yet again sometime into the reception - this time right into a Western-style gown.

Looking Good On Your Wedding Night: Perfect Ideas

June 8th, 2011 by admin

Typically, men aren’t so concerned with how they look on their wedding night because there’s really nothing to fuss about. But mind you, having a perfect wedding night also lies on how you look and not just on how your bride looks. If women make an effort to look good on your wedding night, you should also consider doing the same. You’ll later realize that it’s a totally different experience when both you and your bride look dashing on your wedding night.

1. Take a trip to the barber
Probably one of the things that make a man look dashing is their haircut. Find a suitable haircut that will bring out the best features of your face and something that will accentuate your build. If you are quite thin, choose a shorter haircut that will bring focus to your face and not to the rest of your body. Use a hair wax for that sexy wet look or better yet, take a nice shower and comb your hair with your fingers for a tousled look that is surely irresistible.

2. Go for clean nails
A real put-off for women is a man with dirty and untrimmed nails. If you want to caress her with the greatest care and the smoothest touch, consider having your nails done and get a hand spa too for a smoother hand texture. If you have forgotten to do this before the wedding, lather on some smooth lotion a few minutes before you do the thing.

3. Splurge on a good perfume
If women make an effort to smell rseally good, you should make the same effort. Choose a musky and sexy scent that will turn your bride on even before you touch her. The smell of a man is a powerful way of seducing a woman so use it to the best of your advantage. You will look good to her eyes even before you come closer.

4. Invest on a little suspense
The wedding night concludes on one thing – making love. A common mistake that men do is to come out of the bathroom naked or with just a towel on. Why not put on a nice undershirt or boxers to have your bride guessing about what’s underneath. If she knows how to throw a little suspense, you can do it too.

Looking good on your wedding night is the first step that you have to take to make the night truly memorable. This is a very simple thing to consider but it has a very big impact on how your wedding night would turn out. The key is not just in throwing a good performance in bed but also in making an effort to look good for your bride’s eyes. You’ll be sure to leave a memory of how wonderfully you looked on your wedding night. Days, months and years may pass but your bride would still be musing about the devilishly handsome man she married on that fateful day.
