Medieval Wedding Dress

September 11th, 2009 by admin

I have always wanted to have a medieval wedding theme - why not? It is such a different concept to most weddings you see these days. The bridal party would all be in elegant medieval dresses, my medieval wedding dress would be out of this world, all long and floaty.

I'd like the men in battle dress, if it was a partiularly hot day, it could be quite amusing to have the best man in a suit of armour.

For the meal we would all sit round a massive 'old world' wooden table. We would all eat chunks of meat and vegetables with our hands, gone with the usual elegance of the wedding meal.

As red wine is my favourite tipple, I would insist all guests supped generously out of chunky goblets. Everyone would be allowed to burp loudly as sign of enjoyment. My medieval wedding dress would be pale blue and pale yellow in colour. It would be long and floaty. To top my medieval wedding dress off I would be wearing a medieval headress with white floaty lace. There would be no signs of any flashy wedding tiara bling.

I have not yet decided on my wedding table centerpieces - possibly, the head of a boar - I am picturing the old medieval films and unfortunately this is all I can see on the table.

The point is anyone can have the wedding they dream of. It's simple, throw a few ideas around, write them down and then start the planning. Everything will just fall into place.
