Modest Wedding Dress

August 31st, 2009 by admin

Most brides have an idea of their dream wedding dress. For many this is a dress we have dreamt of as a young girl, for others we may only have pictured our dress when we knew we were about to be married. Either way, this is one of the most special purchases a lady can ever make. Many brides choose to purchase a modest wedding dress, not all brides want to show too much skin and the modest wedding dress is rapidly becoming the most popular wedding dress choice out there. In order to find a true modest wedding dress, you should look at the way the neckline is, the style embedded in the sleeves and the design on the back of the dress. Other factors include the overall length and cut of the dress. In order to have a true modest wedding dress the bride should be free from conceit and vanity and have propriety in dress, in all senses of the word

My dream modest wedding dress is full length with detailed lace embroidery showing off a high neck with pearl buttons up the back. It will also have stylish long sleeves, again in a stunning detailed lace design.

The internet is a wonderful invention when it comes to the search for your modest wedding dress. You can flick through countless websites and you will be guaranteed to find your dream dress. If you don't want to purchase your dress over the internet, you will be able to source your dream dress from the information provided online. Alternatively, having browsed online you will have a good idea of what your dress will look like. This will enable you to provide detailed instruction to a tailor so your unique modest wedding dress can be made, especially to your specifications.

Weddings Dresses – Two Brides, Double The Decisions

Wedding Favors & Bridal Gifts by HansonEllis

Tina and Lara had been together for a few years, nearly 7 to be exact. Lara was always joking about getting married but Tina never really found the "joke" very funny because she was desperate to get married. She felt she had found her life partner and why should they miss out on the amazing journey of marriage just because they are a 'same sex' couple. Then miracles of miracles, England changes it's law which would mean that Tina's dream could possibly come true. There was only one obsticle - she hadn't asked Lara yet!

She chose a summers day, in the local park to pop the question. Of course, Lara said yes straight away.

They set the date 9 months ahead and began the planning. To be honest the planning stage was not all plain sailing. Two brides are most definately more complicated than one! Lara wanted a church wedding, where as Tina wanted anywhere at all other than a church. Eventually they compramised on a local hotel.

The next drama was the weddings dresses. Should they both wear weddings dresses or only one of them? If they both wore them should they select the same weddings dresses or each choose their own? Then there was the additional dilema of should they see each others weddings dresses or risk them clashing on the big day.

They decided to follow their hearts, both brides wanted a dress, they wanted to keep the element of surprise, so they shopped separately for the weddings dresses.

The months flew in and the big day arrived in no time. Both brides arrived separately at the hotel, having stayed at their parents house the night before. Tina was first down the aisle on her fathers arm. He looked so proud and Tina looked amazing. Tina then had the nerve racking few minutes wait for Lara to arrive.

Lara arrived looking nervous. Her brother walked her down the aisle as her father sadly passed away a couple of years before.

It was amazing to the guests to see the happy brides and the way the weddings dresses complemented each other. Without consultation, both weddings dresses were white with a red train - they looked perfect.

Both brides later admitted that it was the most perfect day of their lives. They then sneaked away from the reception to begin their two week honeymoon in the maldives.

Choosing Your Wedding Favors

August 27th, 2009 by admin

Wedding Soap Heart Box - wedding favors & bridal g

As well as weddings dresses a bride must choose her wedding favours. This can be a difficult decision, it is made doubly so by the amazing variety of wedding favors that are availble nowadays. One unique option is to buy personalized poker chips. You can have your names and dates added to the chips, you could even add a small picture if you wanted. These can then be kept by the relations as lucky chips, either to use in gaming or as a lucky trinket to keep in their purse.

Another option you could look at would be candles. Everyone loves candles so not only would your wedding favors be attractive, they would also prove to be useful to your guests. You could even get the color of the candle to match your weddings dresses. This example is approximately $3.

Many people link bells to weddings. You can hear the church bells chiming on your special day, bells also symbolise luck. Why not have wedding bell favours? Again, your guests can keep them as lucky charms. Many people love to use wedding favors as lucky charms as they symbolise such happiness for two of their friends or family. The following example is approximately $1.15, so they would fit into the tightest budget.

Personalized Bell Favor

One of the most amazing wedding favours I have seen, my friend had them at her wedding last summer, is the Potpourri Invitation in a Bottle. Like the title suggests this can also be used as wedding invitations, you can have the secret message in the bottle personalized with your invitation details. These are more commonly used as wedding favours and I think you will have to agree, they are definately unique. Imagine if you had a beach wedding theme, so you have beach centerpieces on the table and then these amazing favours. What will surprise you even further is that they are less than $4!!

There are so many options out there to choose from. All I can suggest is that you keep looking until you find a favor that calls out to you. Your perfect favors are out there waiting to be found.

The Dream Maternity Wedding Dress

August 19th, 2009 by admin
My friend Debra had been with her boyfriend Jack for nearly 10 years , they had never felt the need to get married. They were perfectly happy as they were and didn't feel the need to complicate things.

Then in February Debra discovered she was pregnant. They hadn't thought of having children but when it happened and they got used to the idea, they were delighted.

They then decided to get married. Suddenly it felt really important to them to be married before the baby arrived. Debra knew that this would mean getting a maternity wedding dress and she hadn't seen one before so she didn't know what to expect....
They set the wedding date for the 1st August. Debra would be 37 weeks pregnant and this would give them plenty time to plan the big day.

Debra went to her local baby store to ask if they stocked a maternity wedding dress range, they didn't but they suggested she look online.

There were no specific maternity wedding dress shops but 2 out of the 5 local stores stated they stocked maternity wedding dresses.
Debra went to have a look, she tried all 5 dresses on in the first shop and she didn't like them, she felt that her maternity wedding dress.
would just 'feel right' when she tried it on. She simply didn't get that feeling with any of the dresses. She was too tired to go to the next shop so made an appointment for the following week.

The week passed slowly and Debra just felt she was never going to find a maternity wedding dress that felt like her dream dress. When the day arrived for the next fittings, Debra wasn't exactly hopeful, however, when the assistant showed her the first maternity wedding dress she began to get excited. She tried it on and it was just perfect, the dress was a simple creamy lace with long sleeves and a high neck. It was loose and floaty where her bump would eventually be. It was perfect and she bought it straight away.

The months passed quickly before they knew it the wedding day was only one week away. Debra had been really stressed in the lead up to the big day and 3 days before the wedding her waters broke and she gave birth to a perfectly healthy little boy. Amazingly, they postponed the wedding  by only two days, and as Debra had purchased a maternity wedding dress, it simply had to be altered slightly. The wedding day went without a hitch and they even managed to combine it with Jack Junior's christening.
I wanted to take the classic ballet slipper and give it a little more structure and style. I think the result is something that's obviously great to wear at your reception, but could certainly be worn the entire day if you prefer. - Shelley George This shoe is a best seller because of it's cute, practical style - available with or without the bow. It's handmade with shiny satin in your choice of white or ivory dyeable fabric.

A Used Wedding Dress and a Budget Wedding

August 19th, 2009 by admin
I recently attended a wedding where the bride proudly told people she had bought a used wedding dress. I was a bit shocked because it didn't look like my pre-conceived idea of a used wedding dress. It looked like brand new to me. I have to admit, my idea of a used wedding dress was noticable stains, particularly round the bottom of the dress but this ladies dress was immaculate.

This beaming bride told me that they were on a tight budget but that it had not spoiled their big day at all as they had simply compromised  in certain areas, the main one being the used wedding dress. They also made their own invitations and chose to stay in the country for their honeymoon rather than go overseas. Instead of buying expensive favours they used personalised poker chips from ebay. This chips had the bride and grooms names and the date of their wedding on. The stationary for the invitations had been purchased at the wholesalers and the used wedding dress had come from ebay.

If it had been new the dress would have cost $1,560 but this bride purchased it for $750 and like I said it didn't have a mark on it. My favourite bit about this brides budget wedding is when she told me that if her dress is in good condition after it is dry cleaned she is going to re-sell it in the used wedding dress section of ebay or her local paper also have a used wedding dress classified section. It just shows you can achieve your dream wedding on a budget if you are prepared to make sacrafices in certain areas. Making the invitations would also have involved some extra work but it would also have been extra special for your guests having received an invitation made by your own fair hands.
